Inspiring! I made them this morning for breakfast. It took much longer than pancakes, so I'm not sure if I'll do it again. I wonder if the batter can be made the night before?

Anyway they were great. I was also surprised at how gooey the batter was, and like yours, my bubbles didn't pop very much. Next time I'll try using a bit more water.

I didn't use any sort of egg ring - they sound too messy :) I actually like the funny shapes they came out as. It was very homely!

Wow you guys, we're so connected right now. We had lasagne tonight too! Ours was very simple, though: pumpkin (oven-roasted with garlic), yoghurt, spinach, capsicum and mushrooms. I cheat with the red sauce tho - I just use pasta sauce from a jar. But the key is in the topping: cut the rind off a small lime, and blend it into a powder. Add half a kaffir lime leaf, if you have one. Then (and only then) add a handful of almonds, and disintegrate them too. Sprinkle all over the lasagne about half way through cooking it. By god it's zesty, limy lasagne goodness.

My recipe for ratatouille is even simpler than yours (though yours does sound delicious, and I want to try it). Onion, garlic, red capsicum, zucchini, tomato, cracked pepper, fresh basil. Fry in that order. A small frying pan will do. Then bung the lid on and turn off the heat (or just set it to low), and wait for a few minutes. Serve on rice or bread. It's fast, and so good!

My life is as awesome as yours, and that honey is outrageously good. We've been having it with yoghurt too, with a mix of small seeds (sesame, flax, etc) on top. Sadly the yoghurt is still not home made. But I'll eat it anyway, and I'm going to do so /right now/.

Hooray for dang quesadillas! Actually it wasn't me that invented them: my sister made me one when I visited her recently. She and her husband gave them their name. But the banana/avocado/cheese combo comes from my mum. All I did was add your awesome fresh tortillas.

This is making me hungry again. Why, oh why did I waste time with salad tonight? It will be dang quesadillas tomorrow!

"Stitches Abroad"! You can use that if you like. ;) Or "stitches are broad" if you have a gauge accident... You could use the purple AND red, they look nice together.

Ooooh, Alpaca Silk sounds awesome. I've made mitts from a soy silk-wool blend that came out so very soft...but alpaca/silk blends are heaven.

I made two pairs of Knucks in Patons Australia Classic Bluebell 5ply (including a pair for my dad). Worked a treat! Also a pair for me in Blue Sky Alpacas Alpaca Silk. :) I really need to update my Ravelry page, so behind the times...

Yay for you, doing a gauge swatch in case of emergency! You still have other yarn, right? Like, not more of this yarn but other yarn? Couldn't you pick up in a contrast colour and make a pretty feature neckline? Maybe even sleeves?

Isn't winter great!?
Also, I just had to say how much I liked your phrase "I avoid shops and supermarkets the way dogs avoid fireworks." Brilliant!

I'm very happy to be your blog crush and skirlie converter. It's handy to know an oat recipe that's savoury and fast isn't it?

Your boiled eggs look like a great addition (especially when they turn out still nice and moist in the middle, like on your photo). I must make this again soon!
